E-TRAC 6, CROSS OVERS and TURNTABLES
Overhead conveyor crossovers and turntables are components used to redirect or change the path of carriers, allowing for more complex conveyor layouts and improving the flexibility of material flow.
Crossovers:
- Function: Crossovers are designed to allow one conveyor line to pass over or under another without interfering with the flow of materials. They are used to connect multiple conveyor systems or to move items between parallel tracks.
- Structure: They typically consist of elevated rails, bridges, and supports that provide clearance for one track to cross over another, often at different levels.
- Applications: Commonly used in large facilities with multiple conveyor lines, allowing the system to maximize space and create more efficient routing.
Turntables:
- Function: Turntables are rotating platforms that allow carriers to change direction (usually 90 or 180 degrees) by rotating the carrier onto a new path. This helps reorient items or change the flow direction without requiring complex track layouts.
- Structure: The turntable consists of a rotating circular platform, powered by motors or drive mechanisms, which moves the carrier from one conveyor line to another.
- Applications: Often used at intersections or where there is a need to divert carriers to different sections of a facility, such as at the end of a production line, or in sorting and distribution areas.
Both crossovers and turntables enhance the flexibility of overhead conveyor systems, allowing for more dynamic, multi-directional material handling and increasing the system's efficiency.
