Enclosed conveyor tracks and their components are part of a material handling system designed to transport items in a controlled and secure manner, often used in industrial or warehouse settings. Here's a summary of the key parts and their functions:
Enclosed Conveyor Track:
- Purpose: The track provides a pathway for items to move along the conveyor system, typically used in automated or semi-automated processes. It is designed to enclose the moving items, offering protection from external elements and reducing the risk of items falling off the system.
- Structure: The track usually consists of metal or durable composite materials that form a continuous loop. The track is typically curved or straight, depending on the layout and required motion path.
- Design: The enclosed track is often mounted on a ceiling or framework, with some systems incorporating wheels or rollers to facilitate smooth movement of items along the track.
Track Components:
Track Sections: These are the individual pieces that make up the entire conveyor path. They connect to form the continuous track, with connections designed to be secure and flexible.
Rollers or Wheels: These are used to support and move items along the track. They are typically attached to carts, trolleys, or other carriers that travel along the enclosed track.
Support Structure: The track is typically supported by a series of brackets, frames, or beams that hold the track in place and provide stability.
Drive Mechanism: To propel the items along the track, a motorized drive system is used. This may involve a chain, belt, or other mechanical systems that transmit power to the rollers or wheels.
Curve or Turn Sections: For more complex layouts, curved track sections are included to allow the conveyor to change direction. These sections are specially designed to ensure smooth transitions and maintain the integrity of the conveyed items.
End Stops or Guides: These components are used at the ends or transitions of the track to guide or stop the items in a controlled manner.
Chain or Cable (for powered systems): In some enclosed track systems, a chain or cable is used to move the carts along the track, typically driven by a motor at one end of the system.
Applications:
- Assembly Lines: Enclosed conveyor systems are commonly used in assembly lines where protection from dust, dirt, or environmental hazards is needed.
- Material Handling: They are ideal for transporting parts, components, or finished products safely and efficiently over long distances or complex paths.
In summary, enclosed conveyor tracks and components provide a reliable, safe, and organized way to transport materials in industrial settings, featuring a combination of tracks, rollers, supports, and drive systems to ensure smooth operation and protection of conveyed items.

E-Trac 8, Enclosed Overhead Conveyor Straight Track
An overhead conveyor track is a type of material handling system that uses a suspended track mounted above the floor to transport goods or materials. It is often used in industrial, manufacturing, and warehouse environments to move products through various stages of production, assembly, or storage.

E-Trac 8, Overhead Enclosed Track Conveyor Equipment - Vertical Curves
All Vertical Curves are available in 24 in. radius and are heat treated to ensure a hardened surface for extra durability. Special sized radius and/or degree curves can be fabricated upon request. Standard Vertical Curves are fabricated with 8 inches of straight track on each end. Special curves can be fabricated to order with less for areas where tangents are closer than 16 inches.
-
E-Trac 8, Overhead Enclosed Track Conveyor Equipment - Horizontal Curves
All horizontal curves are available in 24 in. and 36 in. radius and are heat treated to ensure a hardened surface for extra durability. Special sized radius and/or degree curves can be fabricated upon request. For smaller than 24 in. radius, traction wheels can be furnished. Standard curves are fabricated with 8 inches of straight track on each end. Special curves can be fabricated to order with less for areas where tangents are closer than 16 inches.

-
E-Trac 8, Overhead Enclosed Track Conveyor Equipment - Modular Track
The E-Trac 8 End Yoke aligns the track sections so they can be bolted together.
-
E-Trac 8, Track Components
E-Trac 8 Track Accessories consist of an Inspection Gate for ease of chain inspection and maintenance, Installation Gate for installing Conveyor Chain, Oven Expansion Joints to compensate for track expansion and Take-Up Expansion joint for field-erected Take-Up (23 in. closed - 31 in. open).

E-Trac 8, Overhead Enclosed Track Conveyor Equipment - Take-Up Assemblies
A Take-Up is required in every E-Trac 8, Enclosed Overhead Conveyor system to remove any slack chain that may accumulate in the system. It compensates for chain stretch that occurs in temperature changes that would expand or contract the chain and relieves chain tension to uncouple the chain. Take-Ups are available in several styles such as, Spring, Counterweight, and Air are most common.
