The Holdback Dog is used in 'non-accumulating' side x side power and free conveyor systems to control the speed of carriers in gravity lanes. It is zinc-plated. It consists of two thick outer plates and one thin center plate riveted together, all of cast steel.
The Holdback Dog attaches to the load pin in the conveyor chain. The Holdback Dog spring clips around the load pin 6 in. in front of the Holdback Dog. It attaches to a small hole in the Holdback Dog to provide tension while still allowing the dog to pivot.
